Game of Thrones Summary: The Wolf and the Lion – Season 1 Episode 5

Ser Loras Tyrell , who is known as the knight of the flowers, defeats Ser Gregor Clegane at the tournament. He Gave Sansa a flower before the match and she liked him.

Ser Gregor Clegane became furious. chopped the dead of his horse off. He then tried to kill Ser Loras Tyrell who was saved by Sandor Clegane, Gregor’s brother . King Robert orders them to stop.

As Catelyn and Tyrion Lannister were discussing Bran’s accident hill tribes attacked the group. Catelyn untied Tyrion so that he doesn’t get killed and he saved her life in return by killing a man who tried to kill her.

Bran feels bad that his mother left. Maester Luwin tried to comfort him and told him that he can learn how to shoot with the bow while being on the back of the horse. Bran felt happy he can do that.

During a private meeting Lord Varys told Eddard Jon Arryn was killed because he started asking questions. He told him King Robert is in danger as well.

Arya overheard an important conversation between Varys and Magister Illyrio Mopatis of Pentos who said that a war is coming as they planed but Khal Drogo won’t attack before his son is born. Arya told Eddard about the plot she heard but she failed to recognize the men.

Lord Varys threatened Littlefinger by telling him he knows that he gave clues to Eddard about the one behind Bran’s accident. Littlefinger responded saying that he saw him (Lord Varys) talking to foreigners and possibility plotting against the throne. Yoren tells Eddard about what Catelyn did to Tyrison.

Robert asked Eddard to kill Daenerys , because she has a child, to prevent a possible war. Eddard denied and resigned.

Catelyn met her sister who seemed to be mentally unstable. She got furious at Tyrion and took him a prisoner.

Ser Loras , price of the flowers, tells Lord Renly he is the one who should be a king.

King Robet told Cersei that the Dothraki army is strong and united and that if they invaded they will kill many people. King Robert told her he loved Lyanna stark so much and that their marriage never had a chance to work. (See Game of Thrones Summary: Episode 3 – Season 2 – What is Dead May Never Die)

Jaime Lannister tried to seize Eddard with some of his men. All Eddard’s men got killed. During a sword fight with Jaime One of his men put a spear in Eddard’s leg. Jaime left with his men to look for Tyrion.
