A German cobbler called Adolf Dassler launched a sports shoe company in the year 1949. Adolf Dassler named the organization Adidas by merging Adi from Adolf and Das from Dassler. The growth of the company was swift and it became one of the dominant manufacturers of athletic equipment in the world. Adi Dassler started Adidas and he began his journey and his mission to offer the best athletic equipment to athletes from his mother’s wash kitchen in Bavaria, Germany. In 1949 Adi Dassler registered Adi Dassler Adidas Sportschuhfabrik and started working in a town called Herzogenaurach with 47 employees. So, this is how did Adidas start.

Though Europe is the home continent of Adidas, the factories here manufacturing Adidas shoes are lesser than in Asia and America. The countries which have factories manufacturing Adidas shoes are Germany, Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Belgium, Portugal, Hungary, Poland, Russia, and more.
