The 2023 film “Perfect Addiction” is based on the novel of the same name by C.J. Roberts. It stars Kiana Madeira as Sienna Lane, a successful MMA trainer who finds herself in a toxic relationship with champion fighter Jax Deneris (Benjamin Wadsworth).
1. Why Does Sienna Leave Jax?
After discovering Jax has been cheating on her with her own sister Beth (Katherine McNamara), Sienna leaves him and tries to move on.
Sienna moves in with her friend Brent (Matthew Noszka) and begins training his adopted brother Kayden Williams (Ross Butler), an amateur fighter, for an upcoming match against Jax.
As she helps prepare Kayden, Sienna develops feelings for him. Meanwhile, Jax continues his attempts to win Sienna back.
2. How Did Sienna Get Hurt?
After Kayden defeats Jax in their big fight, a furious Jax sucker punches Kayden, accidentally hitting Sienna in the process and sending her to the hospital. Feeling responsible, Kayden distances himself from Sienna, leaving only a letter.
But he soon realizes his mistake and returns, helping Sienna regain her confidence so they can start a relationship. By the film’s end, Sienna has found closure with her toxic past, forgiven both Jax and herself, and embarked on a healthier path focused on achieving her own dreams of becoming a champion fighter.
3. Why Did Sienna Decide to Pursue MMA?
The ending of “Perfect Addiction” shows Sienna finally investing in herself instead of seeking revenge against Jax or validation through another relationship. With the encouragement of her support system, she gains the confidence to pursue a career as a professional MMA fighter.
In one of the final scenes, Sienna signs her name onto a registry to compete professionally, signaling she is ready to step into her own power and define her future on her own terms.
Though Jax attempts to re-enter her life and rekindle their toxic dynamic, Sienna establishes firm boundaries and makes clear she has moved on.
4. Did Sienna Take Revenge From Jax?
She forgives both Jax and her sister Beth, finding peace through self-acceptance and letting go of the past. Her relationship with Kayden ends up being a source of strength and motivation to improve herself rather than a means of validation or revenge.
