Many graduates view the traditional cap and gown as an odd garment worn on commencement day, yet the ritual has a rich and colourful history. When we enter the ceremony wearing our graduation caps, we participate in a rite of passage that our ancestors have undertaken for more than seven hundred years. 1. How Big is a Standard Graduation Cap?

To get the correct head circumference, measure your head in centimetres. This measurement should be taken at the position where the hat rests on your head, 1-2 centimetres above your ears. 6. Are All Graduation Caps the Same Size?

Consider requesting a larger cap if you have a head that is greater than 24 inches in circumference at its broadest point. 8. How Big should a Graduation Gown be?

The length of a graduation gown is usually eight to ten inches from the floor, which is below your knees and above your ankles. Shoes don’t change how long the dress gets. In addition to the length of the graduation gown, think about how the sleeves fit. Sleeves should be longer than your wrist and shorter than your elbow.
