    Bloodhounds Season 1 Ending Explained

Bloodhounds is a thrilling 8-episode Korean drama on Netflix about two former Marine boxers, Gun-woo and Woo-jin, who get caught up in the sinister world of loan sharks as they try to take down the merciless CEO of Smile Capital, Kim Myeong-gil.

    Recap of Episodes 1-7

In episode 1, we’re introduced to Kim Gun-woo, a sincere boxer who uses his skills to help others, and his struggling single mom who owes money to loan sharks. After Gun-woo clashes with Myeong-gil, the loan shark slashes his face, fueling his motivation to take down the villain. Gun-woo teams up with fellow boxer Hong Woo-jin, and they begin working as bodyguards for billionaire CEO Choi and his granddaughter Hyeon-ju, who is investigating Myeong-gil.

Over the next episodes, Myeong-gil continues his dirty tactics, blackmailing businessmen and even murdering those who stand up to him. Mr. Choi hires two skilled fighters, Yang-jung and Du-yeong, to help bring Myeong-gil down. But tragically, Myeong-gil gets wind of the plan and kills all three men in cold blood. A devastated Hyeon-ju disappears to Rome, while a severely injured Woo-jin recovers.

    Episode 8 Recap

In the finale episode, Woo-jin and Gun-woo prepare to face Myeong-gil one last time. They learn he’s escaping to Vietnam by ship with stolen gold bars, so they infiltrate the vessel to stop him. In an epic showdown, the duo defeats Myeong-gil and his right-hand man In-beom. Myeong-gil is arrested by Interpol agents as soon as the ship docks.

Hong Min-beom, CEO of the LIL Group, meets the duo on his yacht with the retrieved gold bars. Respecting Mr. Choi’s wishes, they convince Min-beom to use the money to establish a hospital for the underprivileged. As thanks for their work, Min-beom gifts Woo-jin and Gun-woo two gold bars each.

In the final scene, Gun-woo reunites with his loving mother at the orphanage where she now works. Although they became “bloodhounds,” they brought justice without compromising their values.

    Bloodhounds Ending Explained

By the end of Bloodhounds’ thrilling finale, the central conflict is resolved as the protagonist duo defeats the sinister loan shark Myeong-gil, bringing his exploitative schemes to an end.

Myeong-gil meets a fitting downfall, being beaten by the very men whose lives he ruined, and arrested on foreign soil just as he attempts to flee with his ill-gotten gold. Justice is served for his countless misdeeds.

Despite the trails of violence and loss Myeong-gil leaves behind, Gun-woo and Woo-jin emerge with their conscience and values intact. They honor Mr. Choi’s noble wishes rather than claiming rewards for themselves.

The ending brings closure through the heartwarming reunion between Gun-woo and his loving mother. While external wounds have healed, there is still inner turmoil to reconcile from their days as “bloodhounds.” Nevertheless, the ending rings hopeful as they look ahead to better days.
