There was an album named Fugazi in 1984 that was released by Marillion; it was a British neo-progressive rock band. This album was more hard rock and got really famous.

Origin of the word
Many people state that it is an Italian word, as there is a word in Italian called fugace, which means fleeting. There is another word called fucazzo, which is from Italy, and it means “it was shit.” Hence, together it becomes fugazy.
