We have identified and compiled a list of the most liberal cities in the United States. The United States is home to some of the most sought-after places to live in. When we talk about places that are growing and developing rapidly, it means these states or cities employ more progressive policies than the rest. These states enjoy greater liberties, religious freedom, higher wages, and stricter gun laws. However, they generally have higher taxes and more regulations too. So, there are pros and cons both. Anyway, here’s a list of the 6 most liberal cities in the United States.
California enjoys being one of the most liberal places in the world. From the legalization of weed to being forced to paint your roof white and the ban on plastic bags, this state has regulations for almost every environmental and social concern you could believe in. However, more liberalism brings in its own disadvantages. The unstable bureaucracy and bizarre pension packages paid by taxpayers have eventually, resulted in bankruptcy. But still, California is the most glamorous and sought-after state to live in for almost every liberal out there. (See Why do some people want to migrate to the United States?)

Maryland is yet another progressive state on this list. Further, the state has also decriminalized gay marriage, working on restrictions for guns, and has begun allowing immigrants to collect benefits from the government. (See
One of the major laws defining liberal policies passed by Vermont is the law of payment of union dues, compulsorily even for non-union workers. This is what the state terms as fair share and rightly so. The state of Vermont has some of the highest individual and corporate tax rates. Additionally, property tax rates are also high. This state is one of the few liberal states that enjoys its fair share of conservative policies scoring high on Second Amendment and gun rights issues. Thus, it ranks among the most liberal cities in the United States. (See Why the United States is called America?)
