1 What does the polarity of a molecule mean?
Polarity is the distribution of electric charge over the atoms joined by the bond. It is a description of how distinct electric poles of a molecule are. In case if they are entirely different, then they are said to be highly polar molecules. A few chemical species like chains of carbon molecules share electrons; equally, they are called nonpolar molecules.
2 How are polar and nonpolar distinguished?
They are distinguished, looking at the sum of its entire bond. Every atom has a specific electronegativity, and when they are bonded to another atom, the one with higher electronegativity is more likely to attract more electrons. If the difference is less than a nonpolar bond is formed. If there is a considerable difference, then a polar bond is formed.
3 About ionic bond
Other than polar and nonpolar bonds, in some cases, ionic bonds are also formed. This happens when the atom with great electronegativity strip the electrons from the first atom and does not share at all. It is just an attraction between the two, which is just positive and negative. There is no physical bond between them, and they do not share any electrons; hence they are called ionic bonds.

5 Is NH3 polar or nonpolar?

6 Uses of NH3
It is mostly used as a cleanser; it is found in nature as a waste product. As ammonia is a polar molecule, it can be easily dissolved by water. Various fishes and other aquatic animals can also dispel ammonia directly. Aldo, the terrestrial animals, can convert it into urea or other less toxic forms.
