What are feet?
This measurement value was founded in 1959 when there was a discussion between the U.S. and the Common Wealth Nations when there were an international yard and pound agreement. Yard was described as 0.9144 meters, and the foot was described as 0.3048 m or 304.8mm.

What is Inch
It is a unit of length used in the imperial and U.S. customary measurement systems, representing 1/12 of a foot and 1/36 of a yard. (See If my height is 178cm, then am I 6 feet or 5 feet 10 inches?)

Feet to Inches formula
Converting from foot to inches is really simple, and once you know the formula, it would be easier for you to do even the bigger calculations. Its formula is
Inches= feet*12.000, as 12 inches make up 1 foot.
Therefore, for knowing 5.7 inches in the foot, we will have to multiply 5 with 12 and add 7.
Hence, for 5.7 inches
5*12+7= 67 inches.

Feet to centimetre conversion
There are 2.54 centimetres in 1 inch. Now, first, convert 5.7 inches into feet, which is 67 inches (calculated above). Now, as 1 inch = 2.54 cm. Now, the total number of inches is divided by 12 to get the feet. The remainder after the decimal is multiplied by 12 to get the remaining inches.
1 inch = 2.54 cm, hence 4 inches is 2.54*4= 10. Thus every inch if height is around 10cm. 67/4= 17, hence 17*10= 170cm tall.
To make it easy for you – 5.7 = 67 inches, and every inch is 2.54cm, so
67*2.54= 170.18 cm.
