  1. What is the time zone?

    This term can be applied to explain various things, but most of the times it relates to the local time of an area or a country. It can also be said that the time zone is a geographic area, and it is 15° longitude wide, which shares the same standard time. Here standard means the official time in that area.

  2. Where was the time zone first established?

    They were used and invented for the first time in the UK around the mid-1800s. There are several time zones globally because as per IDL (International Date Line), it forms three time zones, but various time zones are only 30 and 45 minutes apart.

  3. What is EST

    It is the Eastern Standard Time or UTC-5 which draws from the east Coast to western Indiana. EST is applied to all the eastern parts of the world. EST is used in the fall and winter seasons. It commences from 2 am on the first Sunday of November. It is one hour behind the EDT and five hours after the ordered universal time.  America’s time zone is informally called Eastern Time.

    It stands for Eastern daylight time. This time zone comes into effect from summer to spring season, and people love this weather. It begins explicitly from 2 am on the second Sunday of March.  It is one hour before the EST and 4 hours behind coordinated universal time.  EDT does not implement in southern areas of the world.     It runs from Ohio valley eastward to the Atlantic coast. The specific area that covers this time zone is called the East coast, and it comprises of the following states:

    Canadian territories use EDT in summer and EST in winters such as Ontario, Nunavut and Quebec. On the contrary, Caribbean countries used EDT in summer and EST in winters such as Bahamas and Haiti.
